Pre-fall in Winter

Out of all the Chanel runway shows, I have to say this is one of my absolute favourites. It’s just so Chanel, but in this almost unknown soft, intimate and organic way. The collection is absolutely beautiful; the transparency, the gold, the embroidery. I love it all.

Good, Good Things pt. 2

Part deux of my ongoing obsession with the fashion chameleon, Taylor Tomasi Hill. I think I’m so mesmerized and drawn to her sense of fashion because I think it’s such a great projection of fun. Fashion is far often mistaken for matching and being a pompous art form, but Taylor manages to make it extremely fun again.

Boudoir Obsession

Jane Aldridge’s lovely boudoir. And, how utterly envious I am – what I would even do to acquire a bedroom such as this, not to mention the unbelievable lengths I would go to acquire the mass collection of shoes also shown.

I’m beginning to have a serious obsession with antique wooden canopy beds, rich textured linens, sterling silver vanity sets, antique crystal chandeliers, and authentic french provincial furniture. I should have been born circa early 1900’s.

The Heiress

This Ralph Lauren Home collection has me completely blown away. I find the collection to be very early 19th century luxury, with a slight eclectic feel, which just draws me in. I’m such a sucker for primeval luxury, well done french provincial and rich fabrics:

Love

I take back all of my previous Christmas List desires and will replace them with this absolutely gorgeous Hussein Chalayan cardigan. The colours are perfect for winter too!

Acne Goods

At first glance I couldn’t find one thing I liked about this collection, but now I can’t get over the extremely appreciable work that Acne S/S 11 has produced. True Acne devotees instantly saw this collection as monumental, but it’s taken the rest of the fashion world a tad longer to warm up to. I think this season is going to awake the fashion world, and it’s a good start with those yummy brick wedge knee-high boots in a camel patent leather and a faux-snake skin print. So good.
